CALL FOR ARTISTS
Join us for the Festival Dia de Muertos MTL 2023!
After the good reception of the public of our programming the last six years, we have the pleasure to invite artists to participate in the Festival Dia de Muertos MTL 2023.
In 2022, we welcomed over 4,000 participants, including 20 artists from 6 different backgrounds. In 2023, the festival will continue as an intercultural and multidisciplinary gathering to celebrate the Day of the Dead tradition and the cycle of life and death in Montreal.
Important dates
March 15 (Midnight EST) – Submission deadline
April 26, 2023 – Notifications of acceptance sent to applicants
September 2023 – Festival program to be announced
October 21st to November 6th, 2023 – Dia de Muertos MTL Festival
We welcome Film, Music, Animation, Poetry, Spoken word, Theatre, Performance, Dance, or any other genre as expressed through video or in person. We are looking specifically for works that will nurture Dia de Muertos MTL programming with unique viewpoints about the Day of the Dead and other remembering ancestors’ traditions living in Montreal and Quebec.
Artworks in this category will be presented to global audiences at The Dia de Muertos MTL Festival, during the main event, as well as online programming.

We will be accepting work on a rolling basis until September 15, 2023. We are looking forward to your work!

Who are we?
PAAL is a nonprofit organization passionate about bringing people together and we deeply appreciate the stories of our world. Through cultural activities, we want to raise awareness among Montrealers to cultural diversity, equality and inclusion in order to prevent racism and exclusion.
